Fun in the Snow on Sawmill - Jan 2010
                                            By: Phil Aaland

On a very impromptu run, we braved the weather (the sun was shinning and it was a beautiful day) and headed for Sawmill.  We met at the "J" at 9:00 and were on the way by 9:15.  Three rigs showed up on such short notice; Phil, JB, and Dion.  When we arrived at he start of Sawmill there were about a gazillion rigs in front of us ready to go so we were at the end of the pack.  We played in the well traveled snow as we waited for the stock rigs in front of us to get stuck and the pulled or dug out.  Slow progress - but still fun.  The snow was often three feet deep or more so even when the road was well packed, there was a lot of white stuff to play in.

When we reached Bear Campground we were pleasantly surprised to find that ALL of the rigs in from of us had gone into the campground for lunch and the trail on ahead was virgin unthreaded in SNOW.  Now the fun!

The pictures tell the story.  It was a great day and a lot of fun.  Next snow we will again be out here making our tracks.
